“It is an honor to serve the Stewart-Marchman Center as co-chairman of the Capital Campaign that will enable drug and alcohol treatment services to be expanded to the citizens of Flagler County.  We have a great opportunity to bring individual volunteers and businesses from the private sector together with the public sector to create a “world-class” treatment facility.  In addition to expanding treatment services to help more local people, the new facility will incorporate an addiction research component through affiliation with the McKnight Brain Institute of the University of Florida and Dr. Mark Gold, who is a renowned addiction researcher.  As a life-long resident of Flagler County, I see this project as a vital resource for making our growing community healthier and safe for our residents.”

- Edward Schatz, Co-Chairman, Stewart-Marchman Foundation

Today, more that ever, leadership of the Foundation see the urgency of meeting the increasing demand for services throughout our service area.  After review of a consultant's feasibility study, the Foundation the approved launching a 3.5 million dollar capital campaign to construct additional residential treatment beds and research and epidemiology facilities.

Momentum is already building.  The County of Flagler donated land adjacent to the existing SMC detox/outpatient center.  SMC received $198,000 for project design, surveying, architectural, and engineering work for a new center.

We invite you to learn more about the proposed new residential treatment center -- a winning proposition for everyone.  As you read on, we hope you will agree.
